Laure Coupey, a visual French sculptor, simplifies volumes and create a mise-en-scene by using light and shadows, by carving material with light.

 She works are carved directly, transforming untreated materials: wood...sawing, cutting...Violence mastered, with no regrets possible.

Then she finishes the surfaces of her pieces by sanding them down, bleaching them to obtain her unique black and white patina.
